We, the members of the Order of Scathz, Kappa Omega Sigma, fraternity and Lambda Omega Sigma sorority imploring the aid of Almighty God in order to form a perfect union that shall embody our ideals and aspirations promote the common good, establish camaraderie, chivalry, honor and service, and secure to ourselves and our posterity the blessings of liberty under the rule of law and regime of truth, justice, freedom, love, equality and peace, do hereby ordain and promulgate this Constitution.
Section 1. This fraternity and sorority shall be known as the Order of Scathz. It may be referred to as Kappa Omega Sigma (KΩΣ) or Knights of Scathz, for the fraternity and Lambda Omega Sigma (ΛΩΣ) or Ladies of Scathz, for the sorority. They may also be referred to as KAPPALAMBDANS.
Section 2. Its official seal shall consist of a Philippine eagle, clutching the coat of arms of the Order of Scathz within its claws.
Section 3. Its official motto shall be “NOVUS ORDO SECULORUM” which means in lay mans term “NEW ORDER OF THE AGES”.
Section 4. The official address of the Order of Scathz will be at suite 1 Enriquez Building 41-G Osmeña Boulevard, Cebu City, Philippines, 6000.
Section 1. The purpose of the Order of Scathz includes fostering genuine brotherhood and sisterhood among its members, aid members who are in need and promote the interest of the Order of Scathz in general with the end in view of carrying out the goals and objectives of the Order of Scathz worldwide.
Specifically the Order of Scathz shall:
A. Promote and maintain unity among members, because initiate membership is for life and brotherhood/sisterhood is universal within its membership.
B. Enhance scholastic identity, ideals and spirit so that affiliation therewith shall ever be regarded as an honor and privilege of which only the finest of men are worthy.
C. Develop mutual support and assistance to all members.
D. Develop youth leadership and empowerment of members with the end in view of making good men great and great men excellent.
Section 2. It shall also be the objective of each member to promote and develop the Order of Scathz tradition of fostering the four values of camaraderie, chivalry, honor and service not only among themselves but also the public at large.
Section 3. CREED I am a kappalambdan. I believe that the human spirit can only flourish in an atmosphere of freedom. I believe that no man has the monopoly of wisdom and I therefore welcome the clash of divergent thoughts even if they may jolt my cherish beliefs. I believe in the power of persuasion and not of compulsion as well as the illimitable freedom of the human mind. I believe in the inalienable right to pursue truth wherever it may lead. I believe that love of my Fraternity, God and Country is the highest virtue. I believe in God who is creator and who guides the destinies of men and nations. I believe in the spirit of Camaraderie, Chivalry, Honor and Service as my duty towards God, my fraternity and fellowmen. These are my beliefs that makes me what I am- a KAPPALAMBDAN.

Section 1. The members of the Order of Scathz shall be compose of college students referred to as resident members and alumni who are members who graduated from or discontinued their respective college courses in an institution where the Order of Scathz has, or previously had a chapter, entitles them an automatic membership in the SCATHZ ILLUMINATUS, the official alumni association.
Section 2. There shall be four kinds of membership in the Order of Scathz namely: NOVICE, FULL PLEDGE, HONORARY, and ALUMNI.
A. Novice- are those members who passed the Novice stage examination given by the KAPPALAMBDAN full pledge members;
B. Full Pledge- are those members who have successfully passed both the Novice stage and the Full Pledge rite of passage, accepted and recognized by the duly constituted officers of the Chapter where he was initiated;
C. Honorary- are individuals who are successfully in the field of education and/or business and are interested to be a part of the Order of Scathz, may become members upon recommendation of the majority of all the officers of the chapter where they wish to belong;
D. Alumni- are those Full Pledge members of the Order of Scathz who already finished or discontinued their respective courses from the school chapter where they belong. They shall become automatic members of the SCATHZ ILLIMINATUS without accomplishing any requirements.
Section 3. Ranking of Members:
A. 1st degree knight/lady exemplar- are given to members of the Order of Scathz of good standing, an active member for at least three years and who have help in the establishment of a new school Chapter.
B. 2nd degree knight/lady exemplar- are given to members who are of good standing in the service of the Order of Scathz for not less than a one year.
C. 3rd degree knight/lady exemplar- are given to active members of the Order of Scathz who are of good standing, three months after becoming a Full Pledge member.
D. 4th degree knight/lady exemplar- Novice and non-active members of the Order of Scathz.
E. 5th degree knight/lady exemplar- Honorary members, and shall not be promoted to a higher degree.
Section 1. An applicant shall pay 50.00 pesos entrance fee, and 100.00 pesos thereafter as membership fee, upon his/her acceptance as full-pledge member.
Section 2. An applicant must be at least 18 years of age and a college student.
Section 3. An applicant must be of good moral standing in the school or community and will undergo “UNDER EYE” for at least one week.
Section 4. An applicant must have attended all the orientations and lectures conducted by a full-pledge KAPPALAMBDAN.
Section 5. In order to become a full-pledged KAPPALAMBDAN, an applicant must pass all examinations during regular initiation given by full-pledge KAPPALAMBDANS and certified as such, by the chapter Grand knight/Grand Lady Exemplar.
Section 6. The chapter Grand knight/Grand Lady Exemplar, as the case may be, shall cause the inscription of the Novice’s name in the rolls of members.
Section 1. Hazing shall be regulated in accordance with REPUBLIC ACT 8049 otherwise known as the “HAZING REGULATION ACT”
Section 2. An applicant must undergo “one month survival”.
Section 3. Every initiation shall consist of a series of examination and servicing of the novice. The procedure of the initiation shall be as follows:
A. Orientation (Lecture) First Saturday, from 10:00am. to 3:00pm.
B. Entrance examination shall be done on the second Saturday, from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. Examination cut-off shall be 50%, and results shall be posted in the Chapter bulletin board after evaluation.
C. Applicant’s service duty shall be from Monday to Friday, during his/her vacant periods, for the whole “survival month”.
D. Initiation shall be conducted per batch, composed of not more than 15 and not less than 3 applicants. Selection of batch names shall be alphabetical.
E. Each applicant shall be designated a specific and distinct code name, to identify him, for the duration of the initiation. The first letter of the code names shall correspond to the first letter of the month the applicant applied for membership. Designation of code names shall be done by the chapter Scribe, and shall record the code name accordingly.
F. If the applicant wishes to discontinue or decides to quit, all payments made necessary for his/her application, shall be deemed forfeited in favor of the Order of Scathz.
Section 4. A proctor, shall conduct the orientation, and will be appointed by the chapter Grand knight/Grand Lady Exemplar. In cases, when the assigned proctor is absent, a reliever shall immediately be appointed from those members present.
Section 5. Selection of proctors will be based on seniority and on his/her knowledge about the history, goals and objectives of the Order of Scathz.
Section 6. If an applicant, shall be absent in any scheduled orientation or in any of the series of examinations conducted, his/her application shall be deemed deferred. However, said applicant may be allowed to continue in another batch, without having to pay the required entrance fee. No refunds shall be given.
Section 7. Initiation of applicant shall be treated with cold neutrality, no favoritism shall be allowed.
Section 8. In servicing the applicant shall be required to report to one resident member daily, during his/her vacant hours, from Monday to Friday for the whole “survival month”. An applicant in the service of his master shall earn points, depending on the masters’ satisfaction on his/her services. A resident member is only allowed to give a maximum of 10 points per applicant, assigned to him/her for service. A total of 250 points must be achieved by the applicant, as pre-requisite for acceptance.
Section 9. An applicant who survives all phases of examination is entitled to be accepted as a member of the Order of Scathz as a matter of right.
Section 1. Chapter legislative powers shall be vested in the Round Table. The members of the chapter Round Table may pass rules and regulations governing members of their respective chapters, as far as practicable and not inconsistent with this constitution. All rules and regulations passed by chapter round table, inconsistent with this constitution are automatically voided.
Section 2. The Round Table shall consist of the knights and lady exemplars who shall be elected by their respective chapters or those who shall be appointed by the Grand Archon to the Round Table.
Section 3. No member shall be elected or appointed to the Round Table unless he/she is at least 20 years of age and shall have been a member of good standing for two years. Each chapter shall elect not more than (2) knights or Lady Exemplars as their representatives to the Round Table.
Section 4. The Round Table shall have the power of impeachment on any chapter officer of the Order of Scathz.
Section 5. The time, place and manner of holding election of the knights or Lady Exemplars shall be prescribed in the rules adopted by each chapter and shall hold office for three (3) years from the time they have been elected and qualified.
Section 6. The Round Table shall assemble at least once every month on the last Saturday thereof unless another date for such meeting is fixed by a majority of the members thereof.
Section 1. All laws originate in the Round Table Convention. It shall also be the sole judge of the qualification and election of its members.
Section 2. A majority to the members of the knights and lady exemplars of the Round Table Convention shall constitute a quorum for business and may compel the attendance of members in the meetings in such manner and under such penalties it may provide.
Section 3. The Round Table Convention shall determine the rules of its proceedings, punish members for disorderly behavior and with agreement of two-thirds (2/3) of its members, expel a member of the Order of Scathz.
Section 4. The Round Table Convention shall keep a record of its proceedings and from time to time publish the same excepting such parts which in its judgment require secrecy. Any agreement entered to by the Round Table Convention shall, at the desire of one-fifth (1/5) of those present, be included in the journal.
Section 1. All members are required to give unfailing obedience and loyalty to the Order of Scathz and its duly constituted officers.
Section 2. Officers of good standing shall be given assistance, help and protection in case of trouble by the Order of Scathz.
Section 3. An officer is entitled due honor and courtesy in walking and riding by requiring that ordinary members sit, walks and ride at the left or behind the said officer.
Section 4. No officer shall hold any other position except the one for which he was elected.
Section 1. An officer or representative shall be prohibited from holding any other position except the one for which he was elected.
Section 2. Disrespect to superior officers and fellow members must be abhorred.
Section 3. No member shall ask collection or contributions from fellow members without express authority given by the Grand Knight/Grand Lady Exemplar and only the treasurer of the chapter shall be authorized to collect.
Section 4. A member must not question the wisdom of an order given by the officers of the Order of Scathz. All officers must follow obediently the orders passed by the Round Table in a resolution. All KAPPALAMBDANS must obey the instructions of the GRAND ARCHON at all times. His word is LAW.
Section 5. No member shall ridicule any persons nor make threats to anyone.
Section 6. Destruction of any property belonging to another is strictly prohibited.
Section 7. No officer or member shall enter into any alliance, treaty or confederation with another fraternity or organization without the consent and approval of the Round Table Convention.
Section 8. No member shall take undue advantage of his membership at the expense of the Order of Scathz.
Section 9. No member of the Order of Scathz shall cause any harm or injury against any person without justifiable reason.
Section 10. No member shall use the name of the Order of Scathz or any of its officer/members when caught and apprehended while violating any law or engaging in any senseless or unreasonable fight.
Section 11. All members are prohibited from taking drugs or any act of abuse, as well as possession, distribution or illegal use of all drugs falling under the Narcotics Law.
Section 12. Stealing in any form, as well as misappropriation of the belongings of officers or members and people outside the organization are strictly prohibited.
Section 13. Vandalism must be avoided.
Section 14. No member or officer shall look down a fellow KAPPALAMBDAN.
Section 15. No member or officer shall turn his back to a fellow KAPPALAMBDAN who is in need.
Section 16. No member or officer is allowed to act against the Order of Scathz. All acts which tend to undermine the interest of the organization and its officers are considered an act of Treason against the Order of Scathz.
Section 17. Every member must do good as evil must be avoided.
Section 18. Every member must abide frat oath and law promises at all times.
Section 19. Every member must abide the Code of Silence or “CLANDESTINUS”.
Section 20. No “Free Love”.
Section 1. The Grand Archon shall have the power to veto any and all laws passed by the Round Table.
Section 2. Every law passed by the Round Table Convention shall be submitted to the Grand Archon within 10 days from passage. If the law passed is approved by the Grand Archon, it will therefore become part of the constitution governing all members of the Order of Scathz. However, if the same is objected, it will be returned with his objections thereto.
Section 3. Amendments to the constitution of the Order of Scathz shall be made upon the approval of the Grand Archon.
Section 4. The Grand Archon shall be the supreme officer of the Order of Scathz. His Word Is Law. He may require opinion by writing the principal officers in every chapter upon any subject relating to the duties of their respective positions.
Section 5. The Grand Archon shall have the power to grant reprieves and pardons for offenses against the Order of Scathz except in cases of impeachment.
Section 6. The Grand Archon shall have the sole authority to grant honorary degree to non-members upon recommendation of at least 2/3 votes of all members of the chapter to which he/she shall belong.
Section 7. The Grand Archon shall have the sole authority to grant chapter recognition or charter to newly organized chapters in any part of the Philippines.
Section 8. The grand Archon shall be the ex-officio adviser of the Round Table.
Section 9. The Grand Archon shall serve the Order of Scathz until he is incapable to hold his office due to his sickness, incapacity because of work/profession or death or if he is removed from office through an impeachment.
Section 1. The executive power of each chapter shall be vested in a Grand Knight/Grand Lady Exemplar. They shall hold office for one semester and together with the Auxiliary Grand Knight/Grand Lady Exemplar, the Scribe, the Chamberlain, the Heralds, and the Whips, chosen for the same term are elected. In case of removal of the Grand Knight/Grand Lady Exemplar from office, or of his death, resignation, or inability to discharge the powers and duties of the said office, the Round Table shall appoint and swear in the Auxiliary Grand Knight/Grand Lady Exemplar ad their successors, the Round Table shall then appoint any chapter member of good standing to fill in any vacant positions.
Section 2. The Grand Knight/Grand Lady Exemplar- shall preside over all chapter meetings and shall call every meeting through the chapter Scribe. He shall preserve order and defend the rights and prerogatives of all chapter members and at all times protect the good name and reputation of the Order of Scathz.
Section 3. The Auxiliary Grand Knight/Lady Exemplar- shall take place of the Grand Knight/Grand Lady Exemplar in the case of latter’s illness, absence or temporary inability to hold office, and shall assume the power and obligations of the Grand Knight.
Section 4. The Scribe- shall take down all proceedings and keep records of the matters being taken up in every meeting as well as the attendance of all members present in the meeting and shall furnish a copy of the minutes to the Round Table when requested.
Section 5. The Chamberlain- shall have the primary duty of collecting and keeping the funds of their chapter. A release of all or a portion of such funds may only be done upon the request and approval of the majority of all chapter members.
Section 6. The Round Table shall act as the auditor and shall examine, verify and audit the records of the chapter upon written request of at least five bonafide chapter members.
Section 7. The Herald- shall be responsible for posting information’s about upcoming events hosted by the chapter, and shall have be tasked to inform all the members if meetings will be held.
Section 8. The Whip- shell be responsible for maintaining peace and order in meeting and shall assist the Herald in requesting members to attend meetings especially if a quorum is needed to transact important agendas.
Section 9. The Grand Knight/Lady Exemplar shall have the right to create standing committees and appoint chapter members thereto, and shall study from time to time the needs of their chapter and work out ways and means of meeting these needs.
Section 1. There shall be a regular meeting of the officers and members of the chapter every Saturday.
Section 2. Special meetings maybe called by the Grand Knight/Lady Exemplar or upon written request of three or more members of the chapter.
Section 3. Majority of all members of the chapter shall constitute a quorum necessary to transact business.
Section 1. The chapter officers shall serve for one semester until their successors shall have been duly elected, qualified and sworn into office.
Section 2. Election of chapter officers shall be held every second week of each semester.
Section 3. The method to be used in electing the officers shall be by secret ballot.
Section 1. All chapters of the Order of Scathz shall bear an individual and distinct chapter name to be assigned and given by the Grand Archon after registration and verification. A chapter to be eligible for registration must at least have 15 members and officers. A Charter certificate will only be issued to chapters seeking recognition after it has complied with all the requirements set by the Grand Archon. The requirements may differ from time to time. The chapter Charter may be suspended or revoke on similar grounds found under the article on impeachment and for non-payment of dues to the Round Table Convention. Non-payment of dues connotes the chapter is inactive.
Section 2. Mutual protection and support shall be afforded to all chartered chapters of the Order of Scathz recognized by the Grand Archon and the Round Table. The Order of Scathz shall guarantee financial and legal assistance to all chapters in distress. Chapter Officers and members shall be provided by a panel of brother Lawyers at the expense of the Order of Scathz in case of legal problems concerning their respective chapters.
Section 3. All chapters of the Order of Scathz, resident members and alumni, shall give reasonable support as necessary, irrespective of distance, upon the request of another chapter in distress. Such request for assistance must be signed by at least majority of all members of requesting chapter when the threat against their chapter and/or on their persons is imminent. The request shall only be made to address and defuse an injustice or oppression committed against the chapter or any of the officers or members thereto, suppress and repel imminent danger against any or all of the officers and members of the requesting chapter.
Section 4. All chapter of the Order of Scathz shall adopt constant communication with each other and shall avoid misunderstanding with members from other chapters.
Section 5. All necessary assistance is to be afforded to all chapters, as long as it is considered legal under the law and does not involve violent reprisals to their enemies. Laws and regulations of the Order of Scathz as well as its constitution shall not only govern the welfare and interest of every member of the Order of Scathz, but also the Laws and relations with other people outside the Organization.
Section 1. Officers shall pay fifty pesos (50.00) as monthly dues.
Section 2. Regular members shall pay a monthly fee of forty pesos (40.00).
Section 3. Honorary members and alumni are exempted from the payment of any dues but are encouraged to donate a certain amount to the funds of the chapter.
Section 4. Chartered Chapters shall pay five hundred pesos (500.00) as annual dues to the Round Table Convention.
Section 1. The right of every member to be protected from any outside threat due to his/her membership is guaranteed.
Section 2. The right of every member to be given reasonable assistance by the Order of Scathz whenever he/she is in trouble financially, emotionally and legally, excepting only on cases where the interest of the Order of Scathz is undermined.
Section 3. The right of every member to be assisted by fellow KAPPALAMBDANS who are members of the bar (lawyers), pro bono, when he/she is prosecuted or otherwise put under investigation on account of his/her membership or in cases when the interest of the Order of Scathz is advanced or protected.
Section 4. The right of every member to vote in any regular or special election shall not be denied by any chapter on account of race, color, religion, or previous conditions of servitude.
Section 5. The right of every member to freely exercise his/her religion or belief is guaranteed.
Section 6. The right of every member to enjoy the free exercise of freedom of speech shall be unhampered.
Section 7. The right of every member to have free access to the Round Table shall not be denied on account of minority.
Section 8. Suspension or expulsion of any member shall only be done, after having been heard and afforded due process.
Section 9. The right of every member, who is under threat of suspension or expulsion from the Order of Scathz, to appeal his/her case to the GRAND ARCHON who has the sole power of reprieve and pardon, except in cases of impeachment.
Section 10. Excessive fines shall not be imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishment inflicted.
Section 11. Every member shall be afforded with high respect by fellow members and officers not withstanding his/her status in life and/or physical inability.
Section 1. Treason is an impeachable offense. Treason against the Order of Scathz consist in adhering to people or organization considered an enemy of the Order of Scathz, by giving them aid and information, regardless of its confidentially about the order of Scathz.
Section 2. Other impeachable offenses includes; Gross violation of the Order of Scathz Constitution; Misappropriation of the funds belonging to the Order of Scathz or of any of its chapter; Acts against the Order of Scathz, by attacking its good name and well established reputation, including the hierarchy of its officers; By joining or establishing another fraternity/sorority which works to undermine the welfare and interest of the Order of Scathz and its members; or creating alliances, treaty or confederation with other fraternal organization considered enemies of the Order of Scathz, without the consent and approval of the Round Table.
Section 3. Impeachable officer includes the Grand Archon, all chapter officers and members of the Round Table.
Section 4. Impeachment shall consist of an impeachment letter addressed to the Round Table, Suite 1, Enriquez Building, 41-G Osmeńa Boulevard, Cebu City, Philippines. 6000, containing reasons for impeachment as well as evidences on the offence/s committed and shall have been signed by at least 2/3 of all members of the chapter from which the officer to be impeached belongs.
Section 5. Impeachment letter and evidence/s shall be reviewed by the Round Table in an assembly called for the purpose, and may request the aggrieved party to make a written answer within ten(10) calendar days.
Section 6. Upon the approval of 2/3 votes of all members of the Round Table present, impeachment will be forwarded to the GRAND ARCHON for final review and execution.
Section 1. All existing rules, regulations, decrees adopted by each chapter as part of its internal rules, and other executive issuances not inconsistent with this constitution shall remain operative until amended, repealed or revoked.
Section 2. All existing treaties or agreements with other fraternal organization which have not been ratified shall not be renewed or extended without the concurrence of at least 2/3 votes of all members of the Round Table.
Section 3. This Constitution shall take effect immediately upon its ratification by a majority of the votes of all members of the Round Table held for the purpose and shall supersede all previous Constitutions.
The foregoing Revised Constitution of the Order of Scathz was approved by the Round Table of 2009 on the 10th day of MARCH TWENTY HUNDRED AND NINE, and accordingly signed on the same day at the Order of Scathz General Headquarters with close supervision and consultation with GRAND ARCHON Neil Enad Enriquez.
